Complete lineup of Motorola smartphones for 2017 leaks, Moto X to make a comeback
Motorola has expanded its smartphone range over the years but 2017 could see the company go more aggressive than ever. There have been leaks about an ultra-budget Moto C smartphone, the new Moto E as well as the new Moto Z supporting Moto Mods.
Today, thanks to a certain company presentation slide, we know that all of the above are definitely coming this year along with a brand new Moto X.
The leak shows that Motorola will now have five tiers targeted to different consumer needs. The range begins with the Moto C and Moto C Plus representing the ‘Unlimited Essentials’ range. It will now be the most affordable offering from the company featuring a 5-inch 480p display while the Moto C Plus will have a similar sized 720p display and a 4000 mAh battery. Both of them are also expected to come with 4G connectivity.
Moving up, the Moto E lineup gets a refresh entering the fourth generation. Touted as ‘Unlimited Value’, the new Moto E  is expected to feature a  5-inch 720p display, 2.5D curved glass and a fingerprint sensor. The Moto E Plus will have a larger 5.5-inch 720p display and a large 5,000 mAh battery. It’s safe to assume that the E Plus will come with the same 2.5D glass and fingerprint sensor.
The Moto G series already saw an update a few months back, it is expected to be replaced with the Moto gS and gS+. The ‘Unlimited Premium’ range will now feature the Moto gS having a 5.2-inch 1080p display and a full metal body. The Moto gS+ will come with a 5.5-inch 1080p display and a dual camera setup.
The Moto X, which was originally the flagship range, finally makes a comeback. The arrival of Moto Z seemed as if the company had forgotten about the X, but we will finally see one this year. The Moto X4 is tagged as ‘Unlimited Perfection’ and will feature a 5.2-inch 1080p display with curved edges and something called ‘SmartCam.’

Finally we have the Moto Z which will be similar to last year’s variants, the Moto Z Play and Moto Z Force. The Z Play will feature a 5.5-inch 1080p display and the Z Force will feature Moto’s ShatterShield display protection. Both the handsets will support Moto Mods. There is also the mention of gigabit LTE for the Z Force which means that it will run on a Snapdragon 835 as it is the only chipset currently that has the X20 modem.
