WWDC 2017: Apple starts sending invites to the press for the annual event scheduled for 5 June 2017

Apple has sent out press invites to technology publications for the Worldwide Developers Conference. The invites confirm that the annual event is scheduled from 5 June 2017 to 9 June 2017. The conference will start at 10 AM Pacific Time which means that it will start at 10:30 PM Indian Standard Time. According to a report by MacRumors, Apple holds a keynote event on the first day of WWDC where it launches new software and hardware. We are expecting new versions of iOS, macOS, watchOS and tvOS. The event is not limited to software only, and we may see an updated iMac lineup, or a Siri-powered smart speaker to counter Amazon Alexa-powered smart speakers in the market.

The four day event will include in-depth technical sessions to build the next generation of apps. The company also has plans for ‘Hands-On Labs’ where developers can get advice from Apple engineers on how to implement new technologies in their code in addition to consultation sessions with Apple experts. The event will include stand-alone sessions held by Guest speakers from the industry along with get togethers and special events. The registration for the event has already been closed. The tickets priced at $1,599 were distributed using a random selection at the end of March.
The company is expecting to host about 5,000 developers along with hundreds of Apple engineers to help the developers in consultations, hands-on and other exclusive help. Apple will live stream the session on the WWDC 2017 website. The keynote and rest of the conference will be held at McEnery Convention Center in San Jose, which is close to the Apple campus, and that means that the engineers will be able to spend more time assisting developers.
