WhatsApp introduces new Night Mode feature on iPhone for brighter low light photographs

Editor’s note: The Night Mode feature described in the article was originally introduced in March 2017 and is not a recent feature. WhatsApp is currently on version 2.17.31 on iOS. Apologies for the error.
WhatsApp has introduced a new Night Mode feature on iOS devices. The feature is only available on Apple’s iPhones and is expected to come on the Android platform in the future Beta updates.
The Night Mode available in the WhatsApp camera enhances the quality of photos captured in low light conditions and can be turned on by tapping a Moon shaped icon on the top right corner of the camera user interface of the app.  The feature can be accessed by users using the 2.17.10 or latest version of the iOS app.
From our initial usage, the WhatsApp camera app was able to capture videos and photographs in Night Mode. However, this Night Mode features turns on automatically and will only be available in dimly lit environments. You can force the option to turn on by covering your camera with your hand.
Once available, tap the moon icon to activate Night Mode (will go from white to yellow), but beware as it will disappear once the photo or video has been captured. Night Mode icon will activate automatically only when it detects a low light scenario. You will have to tap on it once again to activate before clicking a photograph.

WhatsApp recently introduced a new option to publish new text status update on the 2.17.235 Beta Version of the Android app. The update also allows the users to choose the format of the text status. The feature is disabled by defaults and needs an activation in the setting of the app. It was also reported to bring a message recall feature that will enable the users to recall a message that has not been read by the recipient.
